Mothers should not overload the influence of their mind and emotions in breast-feeding. Psychological and emotional preparation for breast-feeding is more important than physical preparations. The way the mother and father feel about breast-feeding will greatly influence whether or not breastfeeding is
successful and how long the mother breastfeeds.
Research has also shown that expectant mothers frequently decide how long they can to breastfeed during the third trimester of pregnancy.
Some parents are influenced by our society’s preachers emphasis on exclusively sexual aspects of the breast. This has led many to a near obsession with modestly. As a result, it is more common to see mothers bottle feeding than breastfeeding in parks and in other public places. Many girls and boys growing to become mothers and fathers without ever once witnessing baby nursing. Fortunately, a less peculiar attitude toward the breast is evolving as more and more mothers opt for breast milk to be the infants primary food, if not the sole source of nutrition.
