Abstract
The study was designed to ascertain
information and communication technology competence for senior secondary school
agricultural science teachers in Ethiope-East Local Government Area of Delta
State. To direct the study, three research questions were stated.
The study
adopted the descriptive survey research design and the population of the study
comprised all the agricultural science teachers in government owned secondary
schools in Ethiope-East Local Government Area of Delta State and the sample
size was one hundred agricultural science teachers. Data for the study were
collected using researcher’s developed questionnaire. In analyzing the data
collected, the researcher used mean and standard deviation to answer the
research questions. The data analyzed revealed that all the 15 computer
competencies stated in the instrument were required by teachers for effective
ICT application in agricultural Science and all the 15 computer competencies
stated in the instrument were required by the agricultural science teacher for
effective internet usage in agricultural science. Finally, it was also revealed
that agricultural science teachers lack competence in the application and
knowledge of ICT in Ethiope-East Local Government Area of Delta State. Based on
