Scope Of The Study
The
study is limited to factors militating against the effective teaching and
learning of mathematics. It is also restricted to secondary schools in Uvwie
Local Government Area of Delta State.
Significance of the Study
This
study is useful to various persons in diverse ways. The study will be useful to
teachers and educational experts as it would expose them to the various factors
militating against the effective teaching and learning of mathematics, thereby
revealing factors to curb the problem of poor academic performance in
mathematics.
It is of importance to teachers,
educational administrators, policy makers, government, and other people who legislate
on educational matters in this country, as it would help them in making
policies and creating conducive atmosphere for improving the teaching and
learning of mathematics in secondary schools.
Moreover, it will also be useful to
other researchers who may see the result for the study as a springboard to
further study either in other subject area.
